I’m Back!

Where I’ve Been

Hi, everyone! How the heck are you? I’m doing pretty good. A lot has happened since we last talked. During the summer, I lost my mom. I’m not going to delve too much into my grief because it is still really fresh. Just know that she is missed beyond imagination. Also, I completed my BS in Marketing. I started it years ago, and it feels good to finish. I hope my new education will bring more opportunities. Keep your fingers crossed!

Where’s my old content?

Let’s just say it is archived, meaning I cannot access it for some reason. Let this be a lesson to you, friends: log on occasionally if you would like to maintain your content, even if you go on hiatus. The silver lining is that I get to start over. Which brings me to…

What’s the plan?

This time, I’ve decided to change how I select which anime to discuss. Instead of sifting through the season’s anime list, watching trailers, reading synopses, and making a choice, I will let fate decide. If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram (links to my socials are below), you will see me spin a virtual wheel to pick my anime for the season. This method of anime selection serves multiple purposes. First, it saves the time and energy of trying to select an anime. Is this method lazy? Yes. But is it effective? Also, yes. My only rule is that I watched the previous seasons if it is an anime with multiple seasons.

The second and more important reason is that it takes me out of my comfort zone. I am always looking for anime that I am probably going to like. Although it makes the viewing experience enjoyable, the blogging suffers. It limits my creativity. All I do is watch an episode, recount what happens on the episode, and likely tell you how much I liked the episode. And, if I do not like the anime, I simply abandon it. This time, I stick it out, for better or worse.

Another significant change is that I’m not going to recap episodes. I want to discuss aspects of the episode. For example, instead of recapping episodes of Demon Slayer, I may talk about how Nezuko’s evolution in the last episode may alleviate some of Tanjiro’s inner torment. Some of my fellow ani-bloggers use this method, which always makes for a more enjoyable reading experience.

My final change is that I’m adding some short podcasts. I am aiming for about 10-15 minutes. These podcasts will discuss anime I’m not covering for the season. I know my first podcast will be about an episode of Jujutsu Kaisen. I need to experiment with a place to record. It will likely be a closet. As soon as I hash that out, I will post the podcast.

What’s up first?

The Wheel of Anime Fate has selected two anime far from my comfort zone. They are Doctor Elise: The Royal Lady of the Lamp and Mr. Villain’s Day Off. I would’ve never in a billion years picked these two anime. But, so far, they bring up some interesting topics. My first official post goes live tomorrow! It will be on personal growth from major missteps and when you learn a lesson too late.

My first official post goes live tomorrow. I’m so glad to be back and look forward to our conversations. Later!!!

Welcome back! Looking forward to your new reviews!

You might already know this, but you can find a lot of your content on the Internet Way Back Machine. Go to archive org/web and search for your site’s URL. Looks like the oldest back is from 2018, with October 10, 2022 being the last complete one before it changed.

    HTH!
